Inspired by the arcade legend Asteroids, Shmeteor drops you into a field of tumbling space rocks with nothing but a ship, a thruster, and a whole lot of bullets. Blast asteroids into smaller and smaller chunks, but be careful -- each one splits into faster fragments, and the screen-wrap physics mean danger can appear from any edge at any time. Gravity wells warp your trajectory and bend your shots off course, adding a layer of orbital strategy that the original never had.

The chain reaction scoring system is where Shmeteor really shines. Blow up an asteroid near a cluster and the fragments cascade into each other, setting off satisfying chain explosions that multiply your bonus points. Mastering the gravity wells lets you slingshot around the screen and curve shots into impossible angles -- trick shots that look incredible when you watch them back in the replay viewer. The vector-style neon visuals and pulsing soundtrack channel the spirit of the 1979 original while feeling thoroughly modern.
