A loving homage to the single-screen platformers of the eighties, Shmubbles drops you into compact arenas crowded with hopping, scuttling, drifting critters. You're a tiny bubble-blowing creature with one trick up your sleeve: you can fire bubbles from your mouth in whichever direction you face. Get a bubble onto an enemy and they're suddenly stuck inside, drifting helplessly upward until either you finish them off or they break free and come back angrier.

Every round is one screen tall and one screen wide. Platforms drift across the field at different heights, and bubbles double as makeshift stepping stones -- shoot one, jump onto it as it floats up, and ride your way to higher ground. Pop a trapped enemy bubble and you'll send a chunk of fruit tumbling down: cherries, melons, donuts, oranges, lemons. Each one is worth more than the last, and snagging them before they vanish stacks up the points fast.
